Finding Joy & Positivity

It really isn’t too hard to find a silver lining, to find bits and pieces of positivity scattered throughout our days, if we are open and receptive to seeing them that is... The Universe is a phenomenal, gift giving fountain and its gifts and blessings are countless and limitless in measure. It’s really a matter of perspective and what you are looking for, as to what finds its way into your life experience. The irony of life however is that we see what we want to see. Whatever you are looking for is what you typically find. If you want to find things to be upset and angry about you will certainly find them. If you look for fault in others, you will most definitely see it. And if on the other hand you are looking for inspiring moments, joy in the little things and positivity in the world around you, you are bound to find these things too.

It’s truly our limited focus, through the lens we look out of that determines what we ultimately see. If you are aware of and looking for joy and positivity, you may find it in a special song that comes on, or in a book you are reading, in a movie you are watching, in a casual conversation with a stranger at the grocery store, on a billboard, in a fortune cookie message, on a t-shirt of a passerby, in a random social media post or etc. Really, it’s endless where we can find joy and positivity. But sometimes in order to see these things, we have to be in a certain headspace—a positive one... When you are in a positive space you are more apt to find positive things around you. So, it’s a matter of getting yourself in and keeping yourself in a positive space that helps you elicit more joy and positivity from the Universe on a moment-to-moment basis. So, what is it for you that keeps you in a positive space? If it’s a morning run or bicycle ride, then you ought to do more of those things. If' it’s yoga or meditation then do more of these. If it’s painting or sculpting, then go ahead and exercise your creativity. Whatever it is for you that helps you stay in a positive rhythm and positive mindset, you owe it to yourself to do more of these things. For the joy and positivity you are able to elicit and bring forth into your own life spills out and overflows onto others around you. But the same goes for your negativity and pessimism as well. Our energy, whether positive or negative affects everyone around us, so for the love of others and yourself, look for the joy and positivity every day. Keep your focus on being the good and seeing the good. Fill your cup up with the good so your good spills onto others around you.

Gabrielle Bernstein said in her book The Universe Has Your Back, “When you dwell in an energy of positivity and power, you become a magnet for miracles.” Being in a positive space is truly powerful and it comes from choosing to look for the positive. Be conscious and careful what you are focusing the lens of your mind on. Only focus on the things you want to enlarge and expand. Make it an intentional point to keep yourself aimed at looking for the good and seeing the good. Because no matter what is going on in your life, there is good and beauty surrounding you always… Sometimes we just don’t see it however. The stories we tell ourselves are also highly important too, for if you are constantly telling yourself negative stories, what you will summon into your life are more negative experiences, but if you tell positive stories, then positive events and circumstances will gravitate towards you. So challenge yourself to be on the lookout for things that elicit joy, happiness and positive energy. They are always there especially when you start paying more attention to them. For when you are in a positive state and a positive flow you are more apt to experience things that make you go woah. Make it a point to stay in a state of gratitude and appreciation for life each and every day. And as you do this, you will find more joy and positivity gravitating into your life experience.
